Blessed is...

Blessed is the wife who greeteth each day with the thought “This is the day that the Lord hath made, I will rejoice and be glad in it.”

Blessed is the wife who taketh time each morning to bathe her soul in the word of God and prayer.

Blessed is the wife who refuseth to think upon her husband’s faults.

Blessed is the wife who puteth her husband’s wishes before her own and provideth well for his spiritual, mental and physical needs.

Blessed is the wife who is never heard to contradict her husband in public.

Blessed is the wife who waits to bring complaint to her husband till he is neither tired nor hungry.

Blessed is the wife who is contented with whatever her husband is able to provide.

Blessed is the wife who considereth her home to be a palace and not her prison.

Blessed is the wife who counts it a joy to keep her home clean and orderly for the sake of her husband.

Blessed is the wife who would joyfully welcome a bundle of joy into her heart and her home.

Blessed is the wife who lives each day in anticipation of the heavenly Bridegrooms return.

  1. Hi Sharon! Thank you so much for your visit to the blog today, and for leaving such a kind comment.
Your husband is a blessed man indeed! You have a wonderful attitude toward service to your mate, and I am sure he does the same for you. I especially like the one about not presenting a problem until the husband is fed and not tired. Now that is sound advice!

Have a blessed Monday :) So nice to see you.

  2. Hello! Boy, don't these words run counter to culture? The "blessed is" that I wish I had known when I first got married was not to contradict my husband in public. I have learned much about a man's need for respect since our early married days. I feel bad for the times I might have made him feel "less" than the great man and person he is.

  3. Dear Sharon, I also have had the desire to share some of these points myself. As I feel awful when I have not been that blessed wife to my Husband! I am thankful for those who have gone before us with these great teachings. May we be willing to learn and be corrected ourselves by the Word and our sisters who will remind us of these Godly qualities.
I am so happy to have you back in my life, because you always encourage and uplift us in our calling!
    Merry Christmas!!!! Roxy

  4. A very thought-provoking post, my dear Sharon. I often think of the verse in Proverbs chapter 31 when it mentions the husband being "known in the gates." How I desire to speak good of my husband and not ill and may my actions speak of love. Thank you for this wonderful reminder, friend!

May you have a beautifully blessed day :) Hugs to you!

  5. Ceil, Susan, Roxy and Stephanie,

Thank you so much for visiting :) I was thankful when I stumbled upon this, it is a great standard for us as wives to present ourselves in a manner which respects the Lord and our husbands. A good 'heart' check :) I know that I have been convicted of a thing or two!
